Focussing on Human Capital

There was much to inspire at the Bright Futures LBG Human Capital Summit: The Future of Work.

The Summit promised to “expose some of the opportunities surrounding investing in human capital and technology as vital ingredients for our recovery and future growth.” (Susie Crowder from Bright Futures LBG, Business Brief, October 2020, p8).

Ouro Consulting were pleased to attend the event and take a pop-up stand to tell people about what we can offer to support organisational change and social impact.

The event’s focus on human capital is very much aligned with our ‘manifesto’ value of putting people before technology. All too often the technological “solution” drives a change project without a thorough understanding of the problem that needs to be solved, or the people who need to use it. It can end up - as Sir Ian Corder, Guernsey’s Lieutenant Governor, said in the opening of the event -  “putting the cart before the horse”. How many technology-driven change programmes have racked up additional cost, and disrupted rather than enabled efficient business processes, because the user requirements are an afterthought instead of driving the change?

Our user-centric approach helps organisations properly define their requirements and take the best advantage of technological opportunities and automation. This releases people to perform higher value tasks and reach their full potential.
